Arsenal should pay £50m for Mustafi
Arsenal's mooted move for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi already seems to have been going on for ages -- and now it seems the Gunners have found out just how deep they will have to dig to end up signing him.
Valencia will demand £50 million for Mustafi, according to the Mirror, and intend to use some of that to make a move for Chelsea's Spain winger Pedro.
Arsene Wenger, the report says, "decided to walk away from Mustafi because of the price" -- but it turns out that may not be the end of the matter.
A transfer "could be rescued because Valencia need the cash," and Arsenal have sent negotiators to Spain in order to try and thrash out a deal, with the manager optimistic that something can be done.
The Gunners are reported to be willing to pay somewhere around £25 million for Germany international Mustafi.
But if a deal can't be struck, Wenger is still interested in West Bromwich Albion's Jonny Evans -- although Baggies boss Tony Pulis has said he doesn't want to sell.
