I will not allow army court to try me said by Kabaziguruka

Nakawa Member of Parliament Michael Kabaziguruka
Nakawa division Member of Parliament Michael Kabaziguruka has vowed not to allow an army court try him for a criminal offence.
Kabaziguruka, AIP Obulejo Ferdinand, Pte Fredrick Namara, Lutwama Musa and Aluge Felix are accused of hatching a plot to assassinate President Yoweri Museveni.
A week ago, High Court ordered Kigo prison authorities to produce the legislator so he can defend himself.
Appearing at the Makindye based Court Martial on Tuesday, Kabaziguruka said the army court was not constitutionally gazetted to try him.
“I will not allow to be tried in this court martial, its constitutionally not gazetted to try any body for a criminal offence,” he told the court presided over by Chairman Lt Gen Andrew Gutti.
The MP described court martial as merely a tribunal for trying indiscipline cases in the army.
“Mr Museveni addressed a press conference saying he cant release me, yet he is the chief in command of the armed forces.”
He added: “He (Museveni) directly superintends over this court and his whish is your command. Mr chairman, you swore to took oath to obey this orders, so you and your panel are not competent to try me!”
In his application filed before court, Kabaziguruka says he is not a soldier or a member of the armed forces.
He notified the chairman that the army court cannot deliver justice or give him a fair hearing yet they are under Museveni who swore not free the MP no matter the circumstances.
Kabaziguruka said he was arrested by police and is being detained by prisons.
He asked Gen Gutti never to send his soldiers to pick him from prison again.
“Prisons has the mandate to produce me to court and bring me back. I rest my case!”
Gutti pushed the case to September 12, 2016.
