Rhodes Scholarships for International Students at University of Oxford in UK, 2018


Rhodes Scholarships are awarded for pursuing full-time postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford, UK.  Rhodes Scholars have selected from many countries around the world annually.
The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting outstanding all-round students at the University of Oxford, and providing transformative opportunities for exceptional individuals.  The Rhodes Trust provides the Rhodes Scholarships in partnership with Second Century Founder, John McCall MacBain, and other generous benefactors. The Rhodes Trust is an educational charity whose principal activity is to support scholars selected from 14 constituencies in order to study at the University of Oxford.
All applicants must have achieved academic standing sufficiently advanced to assure completion of a bachelor’s degree.
Course Level: Rhodes Scholars may read for any full-time postgraduate degree at the University of Oxford.
Study Subject (s): Scholarships are awarded to study any courses offered by the University of Oxford at postgraduate level.
Scholarship Award: Ninety-five outstanding young women and men are awarded the Scholarship each year, from 20 Rhodes constituencies (64 countries) worldwide. The Scholarship includes full tuition, a maintenance stipend, and flights to and from Oxford at the beginning and end of tenure.
Number of Awards: Ninety-five outstanding young women and men are awarded the Scholarship each year.

Eligibility: The following eligibility criteria apply to all applicants for the Rhodes Scholarship:
Citizenship & Residency: You must meet the citizenship/residency requirements of one of the Rhodes constituencies : Australia, Bermuda, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Jamaica & the Commonwealth Caribbean, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Southern Africa (including South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia and Swaziland), SJLP (including Syria,ordan, Lebanon, Palestine), United Arab Emirates, United States, West Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe
  • Age: You must have reached your 18th birthday and not have passed your 24th birthday on 1 October in the year of application. There is some variation on the upper age limit across constituencies depending on the local environment. Please check carefully the specific age requirements for your constituency before applying. Successful candidates will arrive in Oxford the October following the selection process. The Scholarship may not be deferred.
  • Education: Rhodes Scholars must have completed a Bachelor’s degree before coming up to Oxford, to a sufficiently high standard to meet both the Rhodes and the Oxford criteria. NB Some constituencies require completion of your undergraduate degree in the year of application for the Scholarship.

College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: All applicants must have completed their undergraduate degree to a very high standard by 1 October of the year following application.  In some constituencies, they will need to have completed their degree in the year of application. Academic achievement must be sufficiently high to assure entry to the University of Oxford, whose admissions are internationally competitive, and to give confidence that Rhodes Scholars will perform to a high academic standard in Oxford.
